A comedy musical centered on folk songs from the Kyushu region.
At the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, the Tokugawa shogunate (which had continued for 300 years) finally began to decline, and samurai warriors trying to defeat the shogunate rushed to various places, and foreign ships urged the opening of the port and bombarded Shimonoseki and Kagoshima. The world suddenly became noisy.
Here in Kumamoto, Otemoyan, the daughter of a peasant family, was cheerful and cute, and she was a healthy girl who supported her nine younger brothers and sisters, including her younger brother Kanta. She was selling vegetables in the dance-filled town of Kumamoto today, but she bumped into one of the samurai in a group and created a fuss.
It was Shintarou who saved Otemoyan from the crisis. Shintarou was the son of Higoya, a wealthy merchant, and he left home to practice swordsmanship in Edo, but he has now returned home for the first time in a long time. However, in fact, he has joined the Emperor and come to Kumamoto to buy weapons such as guns and rifles from a British merchant.
A few days later, Otemoyan hid Shintaro from being chased by the samurai of the shogunate faction in her own house and he escaped the situation. This led to a bloom of love between the two, and they promised to dance together on the evening of the thousand lanterns where their loved ones gathered.
However, Otemoyan learned that Shintaro had a wife named Oyuu, and decided to give up on him as she herself is the daughter of a peasant and their status was too different....
The grand review "One World" is an entertainment masterpiece that introduces the songs and dances of the world, created in commemoration of the opening of the "Puppet Hall" ride in Takarazuka Family Land.
