The Three Little Musketeers of Edo
It's the Genroku Era, a peaceful period. The place is the glamorous Yoshiwara District. A gaudy courtesan flower-viewing party unfolds before us.
Suddenly, shouts of "A brawl! A brawl!" disturb the atmosphere. Brawls and fires bloom across Edo's festival.
Just as the bystanders think that a bloody disaster is about to unfold, Karata Shinbei makes a magnificent entrance. With energetically caustic words, the fight is brought to a temporary halt.
Reinforcements brought by the ruckus include Ookawa Shinbei and Nakamura Shinbei. These three soon become a set of three musketeers. As a matter of fact, they cheerfully head off to Okuyama (Asakusa), where some Chinese girls hurry to them.
After wading through the clamor of their voices, the conclusion of their story is that their father had been tricked by a Japanese man in Nagasaki and now they had come to the darker side of Edo in pursuit of their foe.
Hearing this brave tale, the newly minted "Three Little Musketeers of Edo" decide they'll have to help....
A variety revue show about accomplishments of the 20th century.
- The Grand Theater was the final performance for Hibiki Wataru. Shinjuku Koma Theater was the final performance for Senka star Uchibuki Misa and Niigusa Moe.
