The Rose of Versailles: Fersen
Since its premiere in 1974, The Rose of Versailles has become the most popular production of the Takarazuka Revue, producing numerous legendary performances and attracting over five million spectators. To mark the fiftieth anniversary of its premiere, it will return to the stage of the Takarazuka Grand Theater in 2024 for the first time in ten years. This story, a foundational work of shojo manga that continues to be loved by many people across ages and borders, is set in France during the raging revolution, depicting the forbidden love of two couples. The Takarazuka Revue has staged various versions of The Rose of Versailles over the years. In this version that focuses on Fersen, we present the splendid world of The Rose of Versailles in a glorious celebration of its fiftieth anniversary.
