Drops From the Wearying Mountain
Depicts the secession wars surrounding the Emperor Tenmu (the Jishin War) and Ootsu no Miko, around 686 A.D.. Together with "Love Blooms Out on the Murasakino," which depicts the conflict between Emperor Tenmu's father and uncle, and "The Chronicles of Tamayura," which tells about the death of Nagaya no Ookimi (Emperor Tenmu's great-grandson), these three works show the inheritance and power conflicts of the Asuka and Nara Periods of Japan.
