Set in the Andes of South America.

Cárdenas's father Enrico is a wealthy farmer, but because he is not able to repay a loan of two million pesos that he borrowed from the notorious moneylender Diego Petro. Not only is his large farm taken, but he is forced to sign a false will and killed.

When his father's will is revealed, Cárdenas is dumbfounded. At that same moment, a n unexpected thunderstorm rolls in and the tree next to him is struck by lightning. The intense shock of it all erases his memory, and he disappears into the forest in a fog.

Five years have passed since then, and Cárdenas is a wandering guitarist when he meets fellow wanderers Frieda and her siblings.

Meanwhile, because Diego is unable to get his hands on the testament that substantiates the claim that Enrico commited suicide, he cannot claim the siezed farm, so he has been desperately searching for Cárdenas.

Eventually Diego's henchmen find Cárdenas, but because he won't confess they get into a dispute.

And then, when a thunderclap rings out, Cárdenas is attacked by a strong headache and writhes in pain. When the pain eventually subsides, his memories are also restored.

Diego's murder of Enrico is brought to light, and peace returns to the farm.

Frieda is resigned to only love from afar when she sees how close Cárdenas is to his childhood friend Elaine, and plans to depart....
