Summary

This video is 148 minutes, narrated by Ootori Ran, and also features new interviews with retired OGs Daichi Mao, Kuroki Hitomi, Haruna Yuri, Anna Jun, Migiwa Natsuko, Tsurugi Miyuki, Suzukaze Mayo, Maya Miki, Ichiro Maki, and Junna Risa, and (then) current top stars Aika Mire, Makoto Tsubasa, Todoroki Yuu, Minoru Kou, and Shizuki Asato. There is also a section interviewing 2nd-year students (class of '99), and messages from Broadway director Tommy Chung, director/writer Ueda Shinji, and (then) TR board president Kobayashi Kouhei (son of TR founder Kobayashi Ichizou).

It is a montage of the 85 years of Takarazuka Revue history, featuring photos, posters, song recordings, and video recordings going back to 1914. They cover what they consider significant events in the revue's history, as well as landmark productions. (I was especially surprised to see the footage from the war period, as I had been told previously that Hankyu always avoided the sore subject of the nationalistic shows of that time.) Some of the footage is simply astonishing.

Towards the end, the various current top stars give a short speech, and we have an introduction to each of the five troupes.

The video also comes with a thin booklet containing more information on the history of the revue and a collection of very brief essays by some significant figures (directors, script-writers, etc).
