Set during the Sino-Japanese War in 1904-1905, this is a love story that crosses borders. In the castle town of Kanazawa, the beautiful geisha Someno and the young, titled Russian prisoner-of-war Ivanov fall in love. They even go so far as to become married, but on the day of their marriage, the Sino-Japanese Treaty is signed and the two are split apart. Ivanov returns to Japan to search for Someno, but the two continue to be parted....
