Sorrowful Nile
The 3000-year-old tale of the young Pharaoh Tutankhamen, as he seeks to create a land of love and peace.
Around 1400 BC, in ancient Egypt, Amenhotef subjugate various lands through war, until she at last brought the world under her control. Amenhotef has two sons. The elder was named Tutankhamen, and the younger was Semenkare. Amenhotef loved Semenkare blindly, but was cold to Tutankhamen.
The lonely Tutankhamen was sent by Amenhotep to this or that land to win victories, but perceived that there was a limit to what could be controlled by force.
There was a Babylonian princess named Nefert who had been captured and was now a slave, and she comforted and cheered up Tutankhamen.
Semenkare was in love with his brother's wife Tuksit, and appealed to Amenhotef to take her as his own.
When Tuksit is taken from him, Tutankhamen is plunged into the depths of despair over his mother's treatment. He gradually falls in love with Nefert, and throws away his homeland. Instead, they go up the Nile in search of a new land....
- Final performance for Okazuki Yoshito.
