Feathers?

Does anyone know why the feathers and daikaidan started to be utilized in Takarazuka? These are both visual trademarks that are in nearly every show but I wonder when they started and why they were introduced.

Does anybody know?

Thanks,

Ben

I remember reading the answers to this on a fan page once before, but the page seems to be down at the moment.

I believe the Grand Staircase has been around for quite a while. There are pictures of Mon Paris from the '20s which show the stars on a fairly large staircase. Ahah! Just found confirmation on this other fansite: The first Grand Staircase was used in Japan's first revue show Mon Paris in 1927. It had 16 stairs, as opposed to the current okaidan, which has 26.

The finale feathers are newer. I think it was the 60s where they started, in a much more subdued form.
