Let's talk Nozomi Fuuto

So, Daimon (Nozomi Fuuto) won January's poll by a landslide, which makes me curious. So let's talk about her!

What have you seen her in an particularly enjoyed? Why?

What about her ("on" or "off" stage) do you particularly like?

Hmmm I guess I first noticed Daimon in that 14 Covers Otokouta CD/DVD special, and just thought nice voice. I like your song, and I think her voice had a lot to do with me actually remembering her song XD. As for official plays I've seen her in, the first role would have to be Terry Benedict in Ocean's 11. She plays off everyone very well, and anyone who can hold a straight face when dealing with Micchan's ridiculous Johnson on stage is clearly worthy of attention XD.

Followed that up with Sengoku Basara, Poem of Love and Revolution (here her singing shines because her role was a measly two minutes worth of stage time if it weren't for the narration at the beginning and end), and Elisabeth. Unofficially I've seen her in Code Hero and just adore Hal

! There's an ease to which she slips into her characters that I really like.

I discovered Nozomi Fuuto first in the role of Terry Benedict in Hanagumi's Ocean's 11 => and I was blown away by her singing, of course, but also by her acting !
I find her very funny and interesting...I have this weird impression that she has some kind of deepness that I can't find in many other Takarasiennes.
From this moment, I've always been looking after her roles ^^
And whereas some Takarasiennes are very good in a field (dance for example) and not so much for the rest, I find her good / very good in the 3 fields: acting / singing / dancing.

That's my point of view on her :-)

ok, fine, I can talk about her more >_>
I haven't seen her in THAT much, though she is perfect in revues. in Mr. Swing she gets a looong solo song while Ranju-san and Akira (on a role swap) dance sultrily and ummmm it's ridiculous. her singing talent was definitely noticed and employed by Hana so nobody need worry about that. >.<

but liking her so much in her "off" mode for Elisabeth did really made me like her actual role in the show. I actually usually care absolutely nothing for that role, but because she's so at ease on stage, she actually, somehow, made me like it. I like Masaki too, and she pulls off a better scary face, but most Luchenis are just kind of youthfully high-strung like they're about to burst. Daimon was just..lazy, warm malice. of an older man who might snap in a cold rage at any moment. in short it was a perfect role for her strengths. yet it's meant to be the kind of role that would make most young stars worried....

this isn't an on-stage "role", but for the end of her Brilliant Dreams segment, there was a kind of mini-dinner show talk event that I saw shown on Sky Stage. OMG. not only did the babies she brought with her get to sing, but she sung songs from Pimpernel and Phantom that was lovely.. and her own song that she wrote!! and then she was called the angel of Hanagumi for her voice.

Next to some of the amazing replies on here I really have nothing to say - I don't know Nozomi Fuuto-san very well. But while I haven't seen any roles of hers that I remember now (I haven't seen very many shows at all), I HAVE heard her sing! ('So Close' from Takarazuka Plays Disney.) Her voice is so, SO gorgeous, I immediately said, who is that!! And in the music video for that same song she was so sweet. :) She made me happy.

And even though I'd never heard of her before (gomenasai, Daimon-san), hearing her beautiful voice made me want to find out more about her. That's how she became one of my favorites.

And also, her smile :) :)

What about on stage? What's your favorite thing that she's done? I still have her female role from Gu Bijin stuck in my head, but I think that's more because I loved the show than because of her. ;)

Oh you should watch the little I Love Takarazuka segment thingy some of the siennes did once, especially the hoshigumi one. It was full of open fangirling and kya-ing and 'I love Todoroki-san's voice!' and 'Sena Jun-san's back is to die for!'

Very adorable.

what was it she said about Manon, something like...."together with Sayumi-chan, we would do 'endless Mayu-san' with the remote". let's all do some 'endless Daimon'

the Al Capone image is sooo cool. she does kinda look a bit like Noru san....

also, I just wanted to add, that nobody could not see her Brilliant Dreams things on sky stage and not be completely endeared!!!! she and some Hanas showed off their precious VHS tapes and Daimon's were all personally taped ones..with colourful labels and hearts next to the names of performers. normally you only get to see formal admiration between seniors and juniors..but there, they were like "COOL!! COOL!! SO..COOL..this is my favourite part.....*spins* wooooow *winks* WOOOW" also, "(bluntly) Tsukigumi fan deshita." there were some Rika shows..just saying. "it's Yuuhi-san!!! *Kiriyan appears* ohhhhhhhh" she showed us all her favourite parts of her favourite ones T_T' you know, you don't really believe siennes can be such huge fans until you see them in a room with their favourite old videos and watch them squee amidst uproarious laughter....

I didn't vote for her, but I do like Daimon, especially her voice and stage presence. I think it was to Tani once that she said she realised she's not the taller ones among the otokoyakus, and so she used to try to make herself look physically bigger but then she realised that it's not about the physical, but stage presence and charisma, and she has that in buckets. (The height thing shouldn't be a problem now that her Top star is Chigi, lol)

I kinda think maybe they were on to something putting her in Yuki as they've just lost Tomomin. Plus I always think she overshadows Asumi.

Well said, cirrus!

My friend is quite high up in Daimon's fan club, so I've been lucky enough to go to a few of her ochakai. When I first started going there were about 350 people there, but that number has grown a lot recently. She's... amazing. I'm pretty biased because I LOVE her, but here are a few anecdotes:

In the handshake corner she always looked directly into every single person's eyes and thanked them. She never blinked an eye when the weirdo foreigner went up to shake her hand. For the Poem of Love and Revolution ochakai she sang 永遠の詩 to us so she said she had two musumayaku help her do her hair specially for that. For the New Wave!-Hana- ochakai she sang her song from the Disney CD and had most people in the room in tears afterwards because it was so beautiful. She was having vocal problems during The Love of the Last Tycoon so she couldn't sing for us at the ochakai. She seemed genuinely upset about this, and asked us if she could do a solo version of the Mugen Five dance in Takarazuka Mugen instead. I have never heard a room of people applauding so enthusiastically and she was beaming when she finished. She always seems so genuine and lovely and I can't say enough good things about her. You can almost feel her love for Takarazuka when she talks about it.

As for on stage... her voice. I think she's one of the best singers in the whole company right now. I love how mobile her face is and I love her expressions while she dances. I have to admit, she pulls funny faces sometimes but I think that adds to her charm. She's not afraid to completely throw herself into character.

I could talk about her forever but I think I'll leave it at that. :)

Not sure who she reminds you of in that photo but she has always reminded me of Noru which is why I first noticed her.

The fact that she's a very good singer doesn't hurt either.

I have nothing to add to the awesome responses so far, except that I remember her being very sweet back when I regularly saw Flower Troupe in Tokyo. I'm glad to hear that she hasn't changed since then!

Also, has everyone seen this? (http://kageki.hankyu.co.jp/revue/436/index.shtml) Teaser image for Al Capone is up! She really reminds me of someone there... Trying to remember who....

I wrote a huge response and lost it, and you'll never hear my like 5 paragraphs of recent Daimon thoughts and anecdotes, but basically: I think a major factor is that she's lovely to her fans. she collects letters with TWO "thank you very much"s and a smile for each person, even though they were rows every day. I heard so many "yasashii hito ne" from other curious non-fans around me at her priorities, every day that slow interaction with her fans. I hadn't really seen her in much until Elisabeth either, but I immediately realised why she has the fanbase she does. she was the complete backbone of that show. it's not really something that can be grasped from a DVD - she brought a peaceable calm with her in the morning, charmed everyone with chattiness and new vigour every day on stage, and then brought it all to a close with confident, tired grace in the evenings. you could NOT be around iride without appreciating how she grounded everything. I think she was really loved by her fellows there, had a strong relationship with kumichou, and it's a shame they've lost her. she was the PERFECT balancing force for Mirio, a douki pair who benefit eachother's images simply by being near eachother, and sharing the same space. I think she was probably a responsible moodmaker for her co-workers.

some memories....coming into raku iri at the same time as Mirio, staring at eachother until Mirio waved at her with a careless cheerful "oh, you're here?" wave like she was some randomer....bowing and thanking and bowing kumichou on her last evening....she spent longer than anyone else there that day, seeing Mirio off with a salute and babies on their way, then coming back and spending more time with her fans to chat about her role and how she enjoyed it. current and retired siennes came to see Elisabeth all the time (maybe most days in Tokyo) and she was totally at ease messing with them and greeting them..maybe my favourite waas getting Ranju Tomu to do the Hanagumi pose for her photo. one time the entire second floor was booked out by a school or some such thing, and up at them, "Does anyone feel like there's a lot of young faces up there?? (down to first floor) See 'em? Hey up there everyone come join Takarazuka okay?" and they loved it. and I think that it's really important that seeing her anywhere on sky stage, you really realise that she truly loves and is charmed by Takarazuka. I don't think that's a major plus for everyone, but I feel like there are a lot of young, new fans at the moment, and someone who seems such a fan herself attracts that kind of person to her. I wish I could know how her fanbase has changed over time. it's a shame she's transferring, because she and her fans seemed to be really comfortable with their position and didn't feel threatened by anyone else's presence. I feel like there's a lot more to say about her, but she's really in her prime at the moment, and nobody who was there at raku could pretend to not have noticed her power.

apart from all that, she's an excellent all-rounder with strong singing, dancing, style, and that otokoyaku air, plus clearly enjoys and suits humour. her charisma is extremely well-supported and every day it was in full force. I'll be really interested to see what kind of top star she might be. it might be something like Asako (relatedly she was SO excited when Asako was in the audience one time) but I feel she's less of any kind of natural leader who brings people together, and more like..a presence. I feel like I'm less her fan and more someone who just has a lot to say about her simply by watching her lately, but I was really won over. but basically her "on" is a hot, lazily confident performer, and her "off" is a responsible and graceful moodmaker. yet, those two parts really hold fast together and she seems really convincing for it. I guess I'll leave it there....you did ask for some thoughts ¬v¬

I've never followed Hanagumi that closely so I first 'encountered' her in last year's 'Elisabeth' and noticed that she is immensely popular lately.

I guess it's because she is gorgeous and seems very charming and funny? A bit like Tomomin (Yumeno Seika) but with added extremely handsome otokoyaku-ness? (And she has a great voice,I must admit that.)

But I was surprised about her huge fanbase, too so I'd really like to know her fans' opinion.
