I have something to add. I believe the ages take classes completely separately. There is yokasei (1st year students) and honkasei (2nd year students) and the hierarchy of the school is observed very strictly, life is much more strict for yokasei.

Have you seen the Music School's website? It's here:

1. They have to pass the music school's private exam. I know it at least includes a singing and dancing component, as well as a personal interview. I think you can buy guidebooks in Japan (in Japanese, of course ;)).

2. Yes, though of course they would need to speak fluent Japanese. *g*

3. I believe about 50.

4. This should be on the website. I know it includes tap, ballet, buyo, singing, shamisen, piano, and of course acting classes.

5. I *think* the years mostly have separate classes, but not sure.
