Real names of Takaraziennes

I feel unhappy about putting Takaraziennes' real names on this site. It is against the sumire code, and may cause Hankyu to react negatively. Moreover it is an invasion of the Takarasiennes' privacy. I should like to suggest that this heading is removed from the actress page.

I don't know where and how Ayaki Nao's name was or is available. Someone here deleted her real name from her profile already, so it's not an issue anymore. And I was really just wondering. Personally, I don't want to know any (full) real names, especially if the OG's continue to use their stage name, but that sure doesn't mean the information shouldn't be available to anyone else.
I've seen Saeko's real name in several interviews/articles (and of course a lof of this info is up on the japanese wikipedia... including the highschools they went to, and so forth) so in her case I wouldn't be so careful about it, as much as my natural instinct is to protect darling Hiromi.

After poking around more on fan sites, the Jp wikipedia and news sites, in general so much information about the 'siennes is available to Japanese fans (or those who speak Japanese) that as much as I like keeping things more tidy here on the Wiki, because I do like keeping things to the standards that Hankyu prefers as much as possible, I don't feel like it's perhaps as big of a deal as previously it seemed (to me, at least).

I certainly wouldn't advise /adding/ any more information than we already have, at least not on current 'siennes, but for OGs (and especially those that sometimes use their real names for things, as I have found a few do) I think more information wouldn't be a wholly bad thing. Most importantly I would love to see more collected post-retirement information... I've found the few things that have been added to be /incredibly/ helpful. Clearly this is an extra issue from real names, but one that I've been pondering for a bit. If you'd rather have me move it to another thread, just let me know. :)

I never received a list of "rules" from Touko's club either.

Getting back to this:

How does that affect siblings of former Takarasiennes? I noticed Ayaki Nao's real name is up, but while she is retired, her sister is still a current 'sienne...

Hmmmm... Is Ayaki's real name available on her official website, or in a newspaper article, or someplace like that? The idea is that there's no point in hiding an OGs real name if anyone in Japan could just read it in a magazine. ;) If it's still private, and someone found it on one of "those" sites somewhere, better take it off, even though she's retired.

That's what I'd do anyway. :)

There is no written Sumire Code. It's essential to the officially-unofficial nature of Takarazuka fan clubs that as little as possible be put down on paper. I spoke rather guardedly to various Japanese fans about it, people who'd been active members of fan clubs for years, and even they couldn't tell me all of it... only the fans' part. The actresses have their own Sumire Code.

Did you receive a list of rules like that from Sararan's fan club? I didn't, and it seems strange to me, given how keen the Japanese fans were that I should explain things they told me to other Western fan club members but not put anything in writing.

Is there actually a written Sumire Code? I was under the impression it was one of those unwritten law things, with fans passing down and adapting the rules over the years. The closest thing to an actual code that I can think of are the rules sent out to members of the Takarasiennes' personal fan clubs, such as "don't take pictures at demachi" and whatnot.

If there is an actual SC, though, I would love to read it, too. :)

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply to this, everybody... I just made a post in the Editors' forum about this... I'd like to verify the source of the name information before making a judgement call. If it comes from a published source in Japan then I think it's acceptable to include here; if it is simply stalker-ish fans posting information they shouldn't be posting, then I'd prefer not to have it up on the TakaWiki either. Hopefully when someone can provide a more definitive answer we can make a policy decision on the subject. Right now I'm leaning towards the better-save-than-sorry option, though, and removing the field from the template...

Yeah, I've been taking them down when I see them too. I'm not sure who's been putting them up in the first place, actually.

Slightly tangentially, when we're closer to being done with all the raw data stuff and get around to writing articles and so forth, one of the first ones should definitely be on the Sumire code. I'm not entirely clear on everything it entails, apart from the question of performer privacy, loyalty to the company, and things like that, but I'm sure there's stuff I'm missing. (Maybe it's like Fight Club and one of its rules is that its rules are not supposed to be explicitly stated, for all I know...)

I think there was some discussion about this previously and people agreed not to put up real names of current performers, so if you see any real names up you can delete them. I think it's okay if they're retired (correct me if I'm wrong), which might be why it's still on the Actress Profile template. It's not that hard to delete the "Real Name" item when making a new page, but I agree, it might be better if it's taken down, so people don't get the wrong idea when they're making new pages. ^^;
