Image Request

Hi! Currently, I am building a Chinese Taka-Wiki in benefit for Chinese-speaking fan. We may need to borrow images from this website, so I see if the editor can give me a green light for that.

It's still in the baby stage, when it's time, I will make an official announcement here.

Thank you very much!

For all the very good reasons Jenebi pointed out: if you wish to use any image from TakaWiki, please contact the person who uploaded that image originally to obtain permission.

If there is no name associated with the picture, I'd advise that you don't use it.

Obviously there is nothing we can do to stop you, but I think for a person to see an image she uploaded borrowed without her permission would greatly discourage her from sharing anything else. And any wiki depends upon the goodwill of its users.

Thank you for asking first. :)

I don't mind if you use any of my older images, but it might take a bit to figure out which are mine and which are from other people.

Hi -

Most of the images on this website are from people's private collections, not owned by the Wiki. Some people may be upset if you take their photos to use on another website without asking them individually.

Also, part of why all the images on this site are from people's private collections (as opposed to copied straight from the official Takarazuka website...) is to try to work with Japanese copyright law, which I think allows people to post images of *collectibles* from their *own* collections online, but doesn't allow using other people's or company's images.

All in all, don't you think it would be better for Chinese fans to provide their own images? The idea is that a Wiki is created and updated by the people that are going to use it. :)

Anyway, I wish you luck on your wiki project! I know how much work went into making this resource, so I can imagine how much effort you're putting in making your site from scratch!

Gen
