Shinjin Kouen Performances

Hi all! So lately, i've been in this crazy mood where i only want to hunt down shinjin kouen performances. Needless to say, they have been hard to come by! I was just wondering:
1) how do they decide which shinjin kouen performances to release on vhs?
2) WHEN exactly do they release the shinjin kouen performances?
And finally
3) Does anyone know if they will start releasing shinjin kouen performances on DVD?

I went through a time where I had to have all the shinkos too. They're so much fun!

For a period from 1998 - 2001 they released the shinkos as "The Energy" digests, as has been mentioned. Then they started releasing them individually (the entire performance) from 2001 - 2003. But then they stopped, and they haven't been available commercially since. (If you want to see which were released, check out Zephy's VHS lists.)

Now they broadcast them on sky stage, about two years behind the original date of performance, although they also broadcast a digest along with the Shinjinkoen Talk Show just after the Takarazuka performance of the shinko. I'm waiting paaaatiently for the full performance of Roma to be aired. Jazzy Fairies will be broadcast in Nov., though, which tells you about where they're at right now.
ohh i get it! Now that you and Kitsune32 mention it, I do remember seeing those "The Energy" VHS tapes on the tca pics website and on cresent shop. I'm glad to know that they have 45 min. digests, although i agree with you Valjean87..i would love to see a full Touko performace. I didn't realize that they only just recently started releasing them separately! So now i understand that you need access to Sky Stage and a really kind person to tape the performances for you! Thanks very much Valjean87 and Kitsune32! it makes so much more sense now. : )

I love Shinjin Kouen performances, :)! As explained, they were on VHS' called "The Energy"(a medley of Shinjin Kouen shows for each Troupe), up until 2002 I think, they started releasing them separately according to shows(like the Shinjin of "Amber-Hued Rain", "Seal Of Roses" or "Guys & Dolls"). Also, the "Applause Elisabeth" DVD has clips of Shinjin Kouen's for the "Elisabeth's" of 1996-1998(would kill to see a full Touko performance as Death). The only way is by a friend who lives in Japan and has the Sky Stage Channel to tape a digest of Shinjin Kouen's and send it to you.

Hope I am a helpful source, :)!
So, do you mean to say that if one has the Sky Stage channel, they actually do tell you when the vhs will be released and how to get them? Or do they also broadcast them on that channel? I mean i'm sure they do..i've seen the schedules for sky stage in the back of the taka graph mags hehe. Thanks very much for your prompt reply Kitsune32..i've always wondered about these performances.

At the moment shinjin kouen performances are not being released on DVD. The only way to really get a hold of them is to have the Sky Stage channel (or know someone who does). Lately they've been releasing digests of shinjinkouen performances there.

A while back shinkos were being released in VHS digests called The Energy. There were four shows per tape and each was a 45 minute digests. For a few years after that complete performance digests were being released on tape. If you take a look at the video section you should be able to see which ones are available.

At the moment, however, your best bet is to try to find someone with Sky Stage.
