revue (レビュー); show (ショー)

A typical Takarazuka revue tends to open with an ostentatious and upbeat opening number performed by the entire cast, followed by a few smaller numbers and/or solos. The middle section is called the chuuzume, usually again with the entire cast, followed by a few more smaller numbers and/or solos. The end of the revue generally features a line dance, an otokoyaku dance on a staircase, a duet dance, and a parade. (Although not always in this exact order, the parade always comes last.)

While English speakers use "show" interchangeably with performances of any kind, the Japanese use it to mean a performance with mostly dancing and singing (i.e., no concrete storyline as in a play). Essentially, a "show" is what Japanese Takarazuka fans call a revue.
