Apologize for not informing Haru and arlecchinic,Caithion,Lokai, jenebi and Bunretsu

I have translate some interview translations into another language wihtout permission of tranlators here. And I posted the retransaltion on a limited user blog. For the blog is not public available, the retranslations are not widely-spread.

Of course I have post the original address of these articles in every translation, but I forgot to ask for permission first. If asking for permission is required for retransalting, I apologize for not informing Haru and arlecchinic,Caithion,Lokai, jenebi and Bunretsu for tranlslating these articles:

As caithion and jenebi have both said, I'm glad you were forthright about this issue but would ask that you take down any of my translations. My feelings are the same as jenebi's - a retranslation leaves too much room for error and could end up with a completely different feeling to the article. Thank you for your honesty and understanding.

arashikaoru,

Thank you for your honesty, and your apology. Both are appreciated.

I don't believe it occurred to anyone when we set up TakaWiki that someone might re-translate articles posted here. That is why the warning on the Translations page didn't specifically mention them; it has been amended to mention them now.

In the future, anyone found to have re-translated articles from TakaWiki without the original translator's permission will be banned from TakaWiki. This will also apply to you if you do not remove from the web your existing re-translations at the original translator's request. Given your forthrightness so far I'm sure that won't be a problem, but I felt I ought to mention it just to make sure our policy is clearly understood.

Thank you again, and please continue to enjoy TakaWiki! :)

Like caithion, I appreciate your honesty. However, I would also ask that you take down any translations of my work.

If you had asked me before using my work, I would have warned you that I'm generally very uncomfortable with "re" translations. Taking the original Japanese, to my English, to your Chinese, means that there are lots of opportunities for mistakes to work there way in. If I translated something wrong, or unclearly, it can become even more wrong when you try to put it into another language. Soon it can seem like the people in the interview (or whatever) are saying something completely different than what they originally intended.

I hope you can understand why I feel this way. Thank you again for letting me know what happened.
Thank you very much for your kindness.I will ask you for your permission next time.Hope it didn't cause you troubles.

Hi,

Thank you for letting us know about your translations. I appreciate that you have told us now, but I wish that you had asked first. Generally, I would say yes, however, the translation page clearly says:

Note: NONE of the information on these pages should be considered in the public domain. If you wish to use any of these translations for personal projects (websites, journals, subtitled videos, etc.) you MUST contact the original translator for permission first. Anyone found disobeying this rule may be banned from the TakaWiki permanently.

So I would please ask that you take down my translations and ask me first in the future. Thank you.
