Sky Stage vs DVDs

I have a quick question. When a show airs on Sky Stage, is it filmed on a different day (last day perhaps?) then the official DVD release? And, if so, is that always the case?

You can see raku digests and digests of the Skystage versions through the Total Collection DVDs and other Sky Stage DVDs: http://takarazuka-revue.info/tiki-index.php?page=Sky+Stage+DVDs

- The "The Last Day" DVDs, particularly in the last three or four years, have complete versions of the raku, but with only the angle on the retiring star.

- They have VOD (Video On Demand), which can be watched on a PC, but you need to become a member of goo broadband. I haven't looked into the particulars, but I suspect to be a member you'll need a Japanese address or bank account or something like that.

Thank you both for the information!

Yup, but they generally only made one recording for shows before 2002 (when Sky Stage began), so when they air them now they use the commercial recordings, or recordings aired earlier on NHK or other channels.

Usually Sky Stage broadcasts are a different day from the regular release. Like, for Grand Theater shows, the DVD releases are filmed early in the Takarazuka run, and the Sky Stage broadcasts are filmed the last day of the Tokyo run. The old shinjinkouen video releases (2002-2003, with the digest tapes 1998-2001) were also filmed in Takarazuka, but many of the broadcasts are from Tokyo.
Some shows don't have Tokyo runs, or they weren't recorded - this is true of some of the shinjinkouen and many Bow Halls. You can check the Sky Stage website (skystage.net) for particulars of a specific program, and of course the recording date is printed on the title card at the beginning or end of all the broadcasts and on the back of the DVDs/tapes.
