Welcome to the TakaWiki!

Hi, everybody! I'm Meg, the TakaWiki admin. My ID on the site is MerryShannon. I've been a fan of Takarazuka for a couple of years now, but I still have a lot to learn! And that's why I wanted to put this site together... There are so many people out there who know so much more than I do, and it would be great to get all this information together in one place. :)

I hope you're having fun looking around. I know the site looks complicated, but it's really pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. I hope you'll start contributing information of your own when you can.

If you have trouble with any part of the site or notice something that you think ought to be added, but you don't have access to edit that page, please hop over to the Suggestion Box forum and let us know!

Hi! Actually, this is one late introduction (Because I sometimes go straight to work/fun).....I'm Yukimura from Canada or Hong Kong (As osaasa from Australia first know me). As you guys know, I am a geek and the GDer that wait for you guys to put the wallpaper into the download section. Fell in love with the Taka-stuff not long, just 1 or 2 years.......However, I've found that it is interesting and amazing. Beside, it may be one of the door for me to understand Japanese culture.

Nice to know you all!
Hi! I'm snow_wolf from Singapore.

I've been interested in Takarazuka for quite some time now, but I never knew the name Takarazuka until I attended a Japanese studies course about a year back and asked the lecturer what is the name of the "Japanese all female musical troupe" called. Thankfully, the lecturer was also a fan of Takarazuka and I learned much from her.

I'm also a fan of oh ... many things Japanese. I collect a lot of movies and DVDs from Japan. My interest for the past few years was centered on Japanese movies, and my faave directors are Itami Juzo, Ozu Yasujiro and Kurosawa Akira in that order. Now, my new interest is to collect Takarazuka DVDs and (do as I always did) share them with my family anf friends so that they can learn to appreciate the movies/performances I managed to get on DVD.

Singapore is a pretty hot, miserable country with no arts scene or anything to begin with, but thankfully, I find my interest in Japanese culture and the arts.

It seems that our community has quite an international representation here.
Hello!
I'm svaneko from China, I've been a fan of Takarazuka for 19 months. I like zunko and tani. Sora gumi is my favorite troupe.
よろしく お願いします
Hi, Sandy! Sorry it took me a while to reply, I was out of the state on vacation (with Ariaflight, in fact! -gringrin-)

Let's see... you would be very very welcome to add pictures to the actress profiles and the image galleries. The actress profiles are allowed two pictures each, one in costume and one out of costume. I'd recommend that you not replace somebody else's uploaded picture unless it's really bad quality and you have one that's a lot better. There are guidelines for the size of the pictures you can post in Adding Images.

As for the galleries, you're welcome to post pretty much as many pictures as you want there! Just keep in mind that the Takawiki policy is that only photos from your own personal collection should be shared here, due to copyright laws. So if you've scanned the picture from a book or magazine that you own, it's okay. :)

If you want to help with data entry stuff, we've got a lot of projects going on in the performance, magazine and actress listings; if you want something specific to work on I can assign you something, or you're welcome to browse the sections and just add information wherever you feel inspired. -grin-

A big welcome to you, and to all the other new visitors!! It's so good to see some familiar names, and exciting to meet some of you that I haven't before... Ah, this is what the internet is all about, folks... bringing people together with a love for some obscure fandom most of the rest of the world hasn't heard of. -laughs-

~Merry

I have many pictures I want to share, can I add more pictures to the actress database or should I compile them in the Image Gallery section? Can we write the real names of the actresses? I know it's okay for the OGs, since they're retired, but I think it's not permitted to write the real name of the current stars because of the Sumire Code. Sorry for posting so many questions...

Hello all, it's Clo!

It's taken me a little while to get sorted after coming back from Japan, but I'm still alive and kicking!

So, most people probably know me from LJ and the Yahoogumi, but here's a quick introduction anyway:
I'm Clo (Claudia), I'm British and French but sadly, I can't put two little flags next to my name... so I went with France, since that's where's I'm currently living. I've been a fan of Takarazuka since last summer, so for, what... only 10 months, but it feels like a lifetime!

I think this site is a wonderful idea - thanks, Meg!

Oh, yes... if anyone's interested, please have a look at the Takarazuka Deviant Art fanart page :)
Hello everyone, Lennie here (although I'm better known as Countess Lenore everywhere else^^) I've been a huge fan of Takarazuka for a few years, starting when my friend came over with a copy of "Gone With The Wind" (don't remember which version) and demanded that I watch it, not that I needed much convincing, I'm a big fan of huge, pretty, puffy dresses! One of these days, I'll finish a Takarazuka cosplay, once my bank account decides to be a bit nicer.

I hope to see you all around!

Hi! everyone

I'm cleofe but Ruka here, from the philipinnes. This one's a little late cause I forgot to make an intro. when I signed here. There aren't many people in my country as I think of it knows about takarazuka cause I've never met one except for Joy, but she's far from my location. As for me, I've known Takarazuka for almost six years now, but I did not really dare to join any forums, communities or whatever (for some reason I'm afraid of meeting new people???) until last year. And now I've joined yahoogumi, here, etc....

This is a wonderful site. I love it!!::

More power to the creator and the members of this piece!!!

Woohoo~! At last! I've been holding back for a week... so now here comes hurricane Jen.

I'm a mad crazy 'zuka fan, as most of you already know, and I think Meg is brilliant for putting all this together. Thanks, Meg!!

I look forward to actually contributing some stuff now. Yoroshiku~!

My little 'zuka journal
Well, though the first thing that came to my mind was: ooook, but what about all the copyrights and stuff? I'm quite glad to see a site like this to be born. Hopefully someday it's gonna be a piece of a really good database.

Well, anyway... As it is supposed to be an introduction:
As for my name just think of me as Linon. As you can probably (or not) guess from the flag - I'm Polish. The first time ever that I saw Takarazuka was 6 years ago when I was happy 18. Since than I continue to study any case connecet to Zuka i various ways. I'm also writing first Polish thesis devoted to Zuka, and preparing to publish it as a book in the near future (well, hopefully -_-'). So I'm more of a researcher and "scientist" than a fan or so. But still I have my days ;). Lately I've been having some lectures about Takarazuka at one of Poland's universities (UAM - Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan) an so on.

I'm also subscribed to Yahoogumi though I'd rather call mysefl a "watcher" rather than a "member" ;).

Ok, enough of this ;). Shortly: happy to meet you all \

Hi, I'm Anne from Germany mostly known as Utena1409 from several pages like LJ, cosplay.com and so on.
I knew about Takarazuka since about 4 years but I really got into it last year.

I went to see "Honoo ni kuchizuke wo" last summer in Takarazuka and will be going to Tokyo this June to see Wao for a last time. ;_;

And I know from now on this thing here is going to eat up all my free time with editing actress profiles and so on... ^^;
Hi, I'm Connie and I think so far it's safe to say I'm the only one from Ohio. Right now I'm studying in Japan and I just recently discovered the addictivness of Takarazuka. So needless to say I'm pretty new to everything but with my trusty dictionary and slight language knowledge I've been learning the ropes and working on translating little things. If nothing else Takarazuka has been an investment in learning Japanese (it's like a really expensive text book...only entertaining).
Hi, this is Mara from Italy... thank you for having created this site! Here in Italy there are really few people who know about Takarazuka, and most of us are newbs. Well, maybe I won't be able to add anything to the site, but I'll be glad to be one of your best visitors ^.*
Ciao!!
Hey Sandy! This is Annie from the Yahoogumi. Welcome! So glad to see you here :)
Hi everyone (Hi Meg)! My name is Sandy and I have been a Takarazuka fan for over 15 years.
I hope you don't mind but I started working on editing the Takarazuka Actresses profiles and added some more stage information and stuff. Meg, can you assign some work for me? Ooh actually I'd say at least five of us in Southern California. Good enough to start our own group to stalk down our favorite stars LOL

Oh~ I believed I missed you guys at PMX. I was only there for one day and unfortunately it wasn't on the day of the masquerade. We should meet up in the fashion district some time! It's always fun bumping into random cosplayers there.
