Gifts

I was told that the best way to send a gift to a 'sienne is to send it to the president of their fanclub. How do you find out who the president is and get in contact with them?
And what's an appropriate gift to send?
That's so cool! How did you know that they'd received the gifts?

I've sent presents from Australia before, and I know for certain that at least some of the 'siennes have received them. Just jewellery type things, just in the normal padded Australia Post bags, to the address babylonclo posted.

Simple as can be!

Cate
@Linon, thanks. I'd never even considered sending food. I'd have to mail it from Australia so it seems like something light like jewellery would be best. I guess all I can do is check out as many pics as possible and see if I can figure out something they'd probably like.

And thanks for the address babylonco.
Hm, well it's true that the best way to send a gift to a particular 'sienne is to do it through the funclub president, but it's possible only when you know her in person. Usually it will be dealt simply as a favor to a foreigner and that's all. They usually don't do it for their Japanese members who have (but also CAN) do it by them self. The only way to get to know the president of any funclub is to do it in Japan and if you can - through somebody (the more important the better).

In other words, now you from what I can see you are in a situation where the only way is to send it to the address which Babylonco has already written here.

And as far as so called "appropriate gift" is concerned - never ever send anything to eat. It's not a question of sending them or giving personally. It's the question of food which is the last thing that you should give. It isn't said officially anywhere but it's a kind of silent agreement and expectations of the theater it self: NOT to give anything to eat (no candies, no food, no nothing). There are few reasons for that. One of them is their diet, but the most important one it the fear that something might disturb their health. 'Siennes them self are usually afraid to eat anything unknown to them (by unknown I mean: something they didn't by them self or that the president of the funclub did not arrange by her self - as bento for rehearsals and so on). Which means that if you send/give anything to eat - they will throw it away like 99.9%. If not them, somebody will throw it away before it reach particular 'sienne.

From what I know about kinds of presents that are being given to 'siennes, mostly it's stuff like: jewelry, clothes, teddy bears, key holders, photos etc. Of course you never know anyway what is going to happen to it, 'cause she might consider something trash or "not her style" and give it to someone or so. But at least she won't be confused gettin' it.

I'm not going to be of much help here, I fear...

Going through the fanclub probably is the best way to get something to a 'Sienne, but you'd have to know the fanclub officer/president first, and since the clubs are unofficial, they aren't exactly easy to get in touch with unless you can physically go to the theatre when the 'Sienne is performing, and approach them there.

Otherwise, I'd recommend writing to the theatre during a period when the 'Sienne is performing there. Here's the address:

NAME OF SIENNE
NAME OF TROUPE
Takarazuka Daigekijou
Takarazuka Kagekidan
Sakae-machi, 1-1-57
Takarazuka-shi, Hyogo-ken
665-8585
JAPAN

As for a suitable gift... hm. It's terribly hard because they receive gifts all the time and no doubt accumulate all sorts of stuff. I gave chocolates once. I figured someone would eat them in the end, even if it wasn't the Sienne herself. ;)
