The Wand'rin' Stars
Brighton, known as a seaside resort area in southeast England in the 1960s. Two rival groups of working-class youths clash for dominance: Mods who enjoy dance music in three-button suits, and Rockers with slicked-back hair in leather jackets who love rock ’n’ roll. Both factions crash a resort event, and what begins as mischief escalates into a brawl.
Alex, the leader of the Mods, is being chased by police when he crashes his scooter into a luxury hotel and loses consciousness. At that same hotel, Cynthia is anxiously awaiting her yet-unseen groom. She is being forced into an arranged marriage by her grandmother, who holds control over the family. She mistakes the unconscious Alex for her groom.
Though she is an aspiring racecar driver, Cynthia reluctantly accepts the arranged marriage on the condition that she can continue pursuing her dream. As Alex regains consciousness, she begins passionately telling him about the thrill of racing. Unaware of the mistaken identity, Alex is moved by Cynthia’s passion and encourages her pursuit, and the two hit it off right away.
As various figures scheme around them, including Leslie, the leader of the Rockers and Alex’s fierce rival; Cynthia’s older brother, who plots to seize their grandmother’s fortune; and even Cynthia’s true fiancé; the relationship between Alex and Cynthia unfolds with the rapid twists and turns of a car race...
