Ouranki

A time of upheaval between the Northern and Southern Courts. After loosing the capitol, the Southern Court has retreated to their stronghold in the mountains of Yoshino, and their downfall seems assured.

Masashige is joined by his sons Masatoki, Masanori and the strongest, unbeaten in battle, Kusunoki Masatsura. Bennonaishi, a lady-in-waiting of Emperor Go-Murakami, had repeatedly lost family to the violence of war, and so had only a thirst for revenge in her heart. Neither Masatsura nor Bennonaishi had any desire to live, that spring in Yoshino when the cherry blossomed exploded into bloom, in that brief moment of love, when they found joy in living. For the first time, Masatsura faced battle wanting to survive for the sake of someone he loved....

Based on glimpses of the military commander Kusunoki Masatsura found in the ancient writings of the "Taiheiki" and "Yoshino Gleanings."
