Scenes 1-3: Prologue


In song, vows are made to remember the proud tradition and to make the new theatre flourish. Dancers show their commitment to the same pledges.

Scenes 5-9: The Flowers


The theme is flowers, cherry blossoms, iris, hydrangea, waterlily, lily, and peony. The dance depicts the beauty and the emotions of the flowers.

Scene 10: Kyogen


Cherry, plum, peach, wisteria, and chrysanthemum blossoms gather for a party. They invite the god of the storm to join them so they don't have to worry about being blown away by strong winds. In fact, they plan to make the god drunk so they can capture him. The chase develops into a bright, noisy comedy.

Scenes 11-12: Variations on a Violet Theme


"Sumire no hana saku koro" is performed in the traditional way and then tango and bolero variations are expressed in song and dance. A flower storm marks the grand finale. The entire cast rings down the curtain.

Scenes 1-4: Prologue


Some of the best-loved scenes of Paris, the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysées, and the rue de la Concorde are the background for a tour of Paris by day and by night.

Scenes 5-6 Pigalle


There's an interesting cafe on one of Pigalle's back streets. A gigolo tries to pick up a rich lady but she's not interested in him at all and she disappears into the cafe. When the gigolo goes into the cafe some girls approach him but he starts to dance with the rich lady. Just as their dance reaches a peak of excitement the woman's husband storms in, punches the gigolo, and takes his wife away.

Scenes 7-8: Dance Provence


A fisherman sings a song for his former lover. The fisherman and the lover meet for the first time in many years. They dance and so inspire young fishermen to dance with the local girls.

Scenes 9-13: A Rose and a Butterfly


A spectacular production based on a theme of roses and butterflies reminds us all of the Takarazuka Revue's unique contribution to the performing arts.

Scenes 14-17: Pirates and Jewels


A ship's captain whose lover has been kidnapped by a pirate rescues her. Their wedding on a sea of jewels is a dream come true.

Scenes 18-23: Finale


A series of triumphal arches open one by one. A medley of songs about Paris and tricolor costumes celebrate the glory of the fabled city. Three pairs of dancers dance under flower chandeliers on the grand Takarazuka staircase.


Scene 24: Grand Finale


In costumes designed on flower themes the entire cast joins in the farewell promenade.
