Castlevania
The internationally renowned Castlevania series, a series of gothic horror action games by Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd., features a unique worldview, beautiful visuals, and classical, majestic background music. The story of Count Dracula, revived after a century of slumber, and his endless battle with heroes, centered around the Belmont family lineage of vampire hunters, remains the core of the games and has been expanded into an anime series broadcast worldwide. Since the release of the first game in 1986, it has continued to attract fans around the world. This timeless masterpiece, which shines brightly in the history of games, is being adapted into a musical for the first time by Flower Troupe, centered around Sea Towaki. With an original story and the unique direction of the Takarazuka Revue, a new chapter of the Castlevania series unfolds before your eyes.
On the horizon stands Dracula’s Castle, a gloomy stronghold only bats dare to approach.
Over many centuries, Count Dracula, Master of the Castle, has risen from the dead many times, and kept threatening humanity. Five years ago, he was defeated by two young vampire hunters. This was supposed to mean that the world was finally at peace.
In a forest, far away from civilization, lives a man who goes by the name Alucard. He was born the son of Dracula and a human woman. Over hundreds of years, he has gone back and forth between states of sleep and wakefulness. During that time, Alucard has determined that his fate is to stand against his father, Dracula.
One day, Alucard comes across a young girl who is lost deep in the forest. In order to accompany her home, he decides to make an appearance among humans, something he has not done in a long while. Alucard takes the girl to a village preparing for its annual festival during which spirits of the ancestors are said to return to earth. Alucard, in the middle of a crowd of people getting ready for the festivities, happens to meet Maria. She is one of the vampire hunters who brought down Dracula five years before. Maria is traveling about in search of Richter, the son of the Belmont family who helped her defeat Dracula, and her sister Annette, who is Richter’s sweetheart. It doesn’t take long for Maria to sense the dark powers Alucard has. As for Alucard, he quickly understands that Maria is no mere mortal.
At the same time, in the city of Paris, change is in the air. Priest of Darkness Shaft and a band of vampires have recovered from the brink of destruction. Their malevolent onslaught on humans is accelerating. The plan is to bring Dracula back to life a mere five years after he was last put down.
Alucard has always wondered whether it was worth his while to save the foolish humans, but his fateful meeting with Maria has slowly opened his eyes to the true reason why he wields a sword. As Alucard and Maria stand together in the moonlight, what is the resolve Alucard has settled upon, and what future has Maria chosen for herself?
