-bante (ー番手): literally, "ranked player"

The ranking of otokoyaku in a troupe is common in Takarazuka. Nibante refers to the second-ranked star, sanbante is third-ranked, etc. Depending on the popularity of stars and the inner politics of the troupe, there may not be a clear rankings for otokoyaku or musumeyaku.
