  • Her name change was part of a policy to remove the kanji for “sacred” words from stage names during WWII. "Kuni" was used in writing the name of Kuni-no-miya, a branch of the imperial house.
  • She retired to be married and moved with her husband to Chile because of his job, although the two later returned to Japan.
  • After the war she became an actress.
  • She passed away on Feb. 12th, 1980.
