Introductions

Hello Everyone~!

I very recently discovered the Takarazuka Revue when reviewing things to do for my first real male role in a play I am doing this month. I've looked at videos of Takarazuka performances on youtube before, but never really became interested in it.

Now? I am an avid Chika fan :) I also like some other actresses, but am unable to figure out who they are exactly at the moment. I've come to love the Musical Elisabeth, which I had always brushed off because of the boring German set I saw parts of it performed on.

I am on the verge of buying my first DVD (although I am lacking the initial funds XD) of the Elisabeth Yukigami production in 2007.

I'd like to buy more in the future, but feel somewhat lost as to where to start. For now I am watching the plethora of videos available to me on youtube. I am glad to have found this website and community with all the information it offers. I've learned much here already. (The Fan Club following is SO impressive and honorable. I love it.)

Hi Luca!

Something that I found really helpful when I was a new fan was joining the mailing list and reading all of the old posts from the archives. I learned a lot of things that way. :)

Poking around the LJ community might also be useful (it wasn't really alive when I became a fan), particularly looking at the tags and things if there's something in particular you're interested in.

Hello all!

I'm new here. Actually I'm not but it's the first time that I'm posting. I can't say that I'm a big Takarazuka fan but I'm a HUGE Rose of Versailles fan. But I believe I have the potential to become a big Takarazuka fan XP I have only watched one Takarazuka performance (La Rose de Versailles 2001 - Oscar et André) and I've seen none live yet. But I will someday! XD

I am Ainariyo, who also very like takarazuka! I am a 20 years old Japanese girl. Since I was in junior high school, the time when I met Makoto Tsubasa, I have been a big fan of takarazuka. I can sing Takarazuka songs and a bit dance. I like also immitating Takarazuka not only watching!As I am in charge of musical circle in my university, I do sing songs of takarazuka with other people.


Now I am an university student in Japan, soon going to USA in Minnesota to study abroad for a year.I hope I can meet some people who love takarazuka and talk together!

I like Takarazuka very much, my actress favourite is Wao Yoka but also Osa san, Asa san ect... In France it 's difficult to have information on Takarazuka, I hope to know more here about it !

Well, it all started when I first fell in love with Rose of Versailles and everything related sometime in college. Being a starving student, I decided to put buying toys on hold until after I had a real job.
So when I got a real job last week, the first thing I did was try to track down some dvds of the berubara productions by the Takarazuka because I'd heard all about them, but never saw anything. That and a few youtube clips of hanagumi's Elisabeth later, I somehow turned into a fangirl. So glad I found this site. My housemate is already complaining that I got "Saigo no Dansu" stuck in her head, and the dvds aren't due to arrive for another week yet.

My name's Aitana and people uses to call me Ai-chan :), and my TakaWiki username was supposed to be "Ariel_VanDeKamp", but Im so inept that I had a typo when I was registering -_-U.
And 15 and spanish, and I have beeing a Takrazuka fan since a year ago, although my first encounter with the Revue was in 2004, when I found a fabulous, marvelous and sexy picture of Takako dressed as the Phantom (thanks to Merry Shannon, the pic was from her Sugar&Spice cosplay page!).
My favorite 'siennes are Haruno Sumire (above all!), Ayabuki Mao, Wao Yôka, Hanafusa Mari, Shizuki Asato and Shirosaki Ai.
I also apologize for my awful English and hope that you have patience with me, since I am quite weird and young :__) (young=immature).

Usually I am the un-girliest of girls so Zuka is the only thing I do where I instantly morph into squealy fan-girl, which many of my friends find astonishing as they never usually encounter that small, carefully hidden side of me. :-)

I swear, I dream of sparkly suits and women gliding down giant stairs... I am a hopeless case. Zuka was supposed to be an academic field of study but I am hopelessly addicted, I've fallen into the trap of loving my subject too much and lost a large measure of my objectivity.

As for who to blame - whoever decided that in the freshman year of my uni course, undergrads studying japanese should go study in Takarazuka for a term to improve their Japanese. Big mistake. Looking back, I can't think of a more dangerous place to have sent a girl like me. Oh well. Almost all my other classmates, who saw the Revue cos it was a local cultural attraction, thought it was fun a bit weird. I thought was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen.

I think... I think this is the chief sign of a Takarazuka Addict. "How do they respond to fedoras?" If the answer is: "They squeal in an undignified manner," I think there's no saving them. .... Us.

Hey, everyone!
I'm Anna from the UK. I foolishly watched a few clips on youtube thinking I'd be immune but I'm hooked.
Recently I laid out a ridiculously large sum for copies of Phantom and Elisabeth. I watched them, fell in love, and now I want more. Takarazuka has broken my mind. I've never, ever, squeefully fangirled like a lunatic over anything before. In fact, some of my friends say I'm too uptight, I need to loosen up and speak my mind more often. Being the strong silent type doesn't suit me.
I know I shouldn't be here. A part of me is saying, "Anna - You need to get away from all this. Asking for help from other addicts is asking for trouble." But the part of my brain that makes decisions is dancing around the living room in a sparkly suit singing "Melody Melody Melody" 'cause that song is stuck in my head and it's not even my favourite song. That'd be Yami Ga Hirogaru for the moment, closely followed by Kitsch.
I'm stony broke right now and I expect to be broke right through to my birthday in February. At which point I'm sure I'll order something shiny with sparkles (probably Ernest In Love) and be broke all through spring.

You know who I blame for all this? Wao. If she hadn't dominated my dreams ever since I saw her dance then none of this would have happened.

I also blame fedoras. It has to be unlawful for a hat to be so sexy.

Doing drag has been one the greatest things I have ever done in my life. I do plan on doing both Der Tod and Rudolph for some conventions once I get money and stuff settled in.

Ha ha, yes the binding can hurt but..I'm not 'gifted' very much in the chest area so I can pull off a man fairly well. As for crossplaying I've done a few characters. One of the more bigger ones I plan on doing is Loz from FF: Advent Children. I love doing costumes I still have yet to do some cons though.

I love drag Kings! I've crossplayed as Roxas from KHII but the chest binding was very painful for me to get to the desired flatness. Have you ever dressed up as any Takarazuka actors or charactors?

Hello everyone. I should have done this a week ago but things have been hectic with internet sadly, lol. I'm twenty years of age at the moment and I've liked Takarazuka for a while now but just recently have I become more serious about it.

I started liking it when I picked up my start on being a drag-king here in Indiana (US). I lost it for a while but about two-three months ago a very lovely woman I kind of know *eyes the webmistress* kind of gave me the kick back into it, lol. What can I say..I love cosplay of all kinds.

I'm really horrible at these intros so I think I will just leave it at this.
