Welcome to the TakaWiki!

Hi, everybody! I'm Meg, the TakaWiki admin. My ID on the site is MerryShannon. I've been a fan of Takarazuka for a couple of years now, but I still have a lot to learn! And that's why I wanted to put this site together... There are so many people out there who know so much more than I do, and it would be great to get all this information together in one place. :)

I hope you're having fun looking around. I know the site looks complicated, but it's really pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. I hope you'll start contributing information of your own when you can.

If you have trouble with any part of the site or notice something that you think ought to be added, but you don't have access to edit that page, please hop over to the Suggestion Box forum and let us know!

Hello! My name is Theresa, aka Yasuda. My friend (becky on here)and her sister got me into Takarazuka in 2010 - they had me watch Hoshigumi's Scarlet Pimpernel and so of course I was sold after that. ;) Thank you, Aran-san and Chie-san! I know very little Japanese, mostly just random words picked up from watching the plays. Someday I will go to Japan...but someday is always farther away than I expect! I hope to see a live Takarazuka performance before some of my favorites retire - Ranju Tomu, Yuzuki Reon, Hokushou Kairi, Makaze Suzuho, etc. Since Hoshigumi was the first troupe I ever knew about, I always side with them and they are my home troupe. :D Ocean's 11 with Yuzuki Reon and all the other adorably awesome new Hoshigumi generation is just what I always wanted! Sena Jun is my top favorite, my role model. Words can't say enough...Sena!!

Thank you Takarazuka for making me smile...and thank you TakaWiki for helping me to find out more so I can smile all the time!

Hi everyone! I'm Jessica and am a new fan of Takarazuka. Started to be interested in them after watching Amami Yuki's , which is really amazing to me. Then I searched a lot about Takarazuka online and found actresses there are all so adorable :)

Hi everyone! I've been a Takarazuka fan since 2008. I had another account on the site a while ago but didn't use it for a few years and found that it had disapeared! Oh well. These things happen.

I first found out about Takarazuka in 2006, due to my interest in Sailor Moon (the Takarazuka Revue was a fairly big influence on the author). It wasn't until 2008, however that I really became interested in it.

I love art and musical theater and have done a series of beaded portraits of Takarazuka actresses.

My favorite Takarazuka actresses (current and retired) are: Haruno Sumire, Sena Jun, Aran Kei, Oozora Yuhi, Matobu Sei, Nono Sumika,Shizuki Asato, and Hanafusa Mari. :)

I'm going to be a loser and say that I joined just so I could edit Ayano Kanami's page about her being guest vocals for Sound Horizon. This pretty much tells you how I got into Takarazuka: because Ayano Kanami was guest vocals and she blew me away with her live singing in the concert. Every time I hear her sing I seem to love her just a bit more, and I couldn't get enough of her, so I went on to search her Takarazuka stuff.

Though I'm glad to say that I'm beginning to be fond of Takarazuka in its own right even though I know less Japanese than a pre-school kid. Mostly I stalk Tsukigumi stuff because they have some really great singers. Yeah.

Oh, and Ayano Kanami does not get enough love. If I ruled the world I would make her live performance of Kakei no Majo compulsory viewing. Too bad I don't rule the world though.

Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to Takarazuka. Only known about them for about a year or two. Haven't got a DVD yet, but I plan to eventually. I love the music, singing, everything about Takarazuka. It just puts a smile on my face.

It's been a year now officially, and I haven't introduced myself properly yet. I'm still a newbie to Takarazuka, having been exposed once before many years ago via anime. Learned a little about it via Wikipedia but at that time I wasn't ready for Zuka. Then Jan 2010, got re-introduced to Zuka again via an anime messageboard and decided to give it a try. Youtube helped because seeing the actresses perform, even in short clips, gave me a better idea of what Zuka is.

Since then I've spent the better part of 2010 getting to know this culture with the guidance of a friend, and purchasing the dvds to see full productions. I have much gratitude for TakaWiki for providing this extensive collection of raw information about the actresses, the history of Takarazuka, and helpful links to the TCA website. This site is my base. To all the admins and editors of this site, a big thank you!

Hello! My name is Lilith, and I first heard about Takarazuka a few years ago, via Youtube. I have truely sunk into the fandom now, though, thanks to a few friends who decided to show me the 2002 Hanagumi Elisabeth. I haven't looked back since. I've also developed a solid fangirl crush on Haruno.

Since first becoming offically introduced to Takarazuka, I have seen every version of Elisabeth they've done so far (one of my friends collects this particular musical, so I didn't have to buy them all to see them), as well as several other productions. I talked my parents into getting my Osa-as-Tod Elisabeth for me for Christmas and I'm thinking about what DVD I should buy first.

Oh, my friends and I are also doing a Takarazuka Elisabeth cosplay group at an upcoming convention. As the shortest person among us, I am being Elisabeth herself. I have future plans to make Haruno's Saigo no Dance costume for me, though, because I love that outfit with my whole being.

As you may have noticed, I also have trouble shutting up about Takarazuka once I start talking about it.

Jen's the name, and Japanese stuff is my game!
(But especially Takarazuka, since the anime industry is kind of in the toilet right now.)

I've been a fan since Phoenix Wright came out, and Tomu was my first ever 'sienne

Hello!

I was introduced to Takarazuka about a year ago, but only just started to really get into it. I finally saw my first full production on DVD (Elisabeth - 2005 Tsukigumi) and LOVED it. I had heard the music from Elisabeth before, so that's why I decided to check it out. Because of it, Kiriyan has become my favorite current top star. I also loved Ayaki Nao as Der Todd/Death. Sena Jun's wonderful, too. lol, I could go on and on about all the performers I've fallen in love with.

I'd love to go to Japan JUST to see a live performance. I kind of wish they did something similar here (I live in the USA) or accepted non-Japanese performers into the troupes. I'd drop everything and move to Japan if I could be an otokyoyaku XXD;

Hi everyone. I'm new to the TakaWiki and I'm afraid I have no idea what I'm doing. :D I'll figure it out. I've never been to Japan, I just watch the Revue on Youtube. I want to go someday, mainly because of the Revue and the food. :P

Well that was embarrassing...

Hello, I'm Colleen, aka "becky." I'm 19 and a quite new Takarazuka fan - since January '10. I stumbled across them kinda by accident on Youtube...and fell in love with Aran Kei as Percy Blakeney in "The Scarlet Pimpernel"! Some day I want to read a translation of their script, since it's quite different and seems much nicer than the original Wildhorn musical. :)
If I was Japanese I would want to be otokoyaku, hands down! The guys usually get the best roles in plays anyway... :]...and soprano is way out of my range.
Since seeing all those girls I am now thoroughly jealous of my uncle who gets to go to Japan on business... :]
Thanks for making such an informative site that helps newbies get familiar with all these awsome people!

> Hi, everybody! Greetings from Mexico. Since I became an anime fan I learned about Takarazuka but till the advent of blessed you tube couldn't see anything regarding the wonderful acting, singing these gals do. Being also a musical fan and seeing that almost no musicals ever cross the pond or the river Takarazuka will become my fix.

I just got my first dvd yuki gumi's 2007 Elisabeth and I gotta say I love Mizu Natsuki her Death can take me anytime.

hi, I'm Kristin, currently in California but will be moving to Japan in about 3 months. I got into Takarazuka during my exchange program to Tokiwa University in Mito, Ibaraki where I learned about it in a class and was lucky enough to see Floating Bridge of Dreams in 2009, with Sena Jun, with another student (even met a couple of you on here). I have been hooked ever sin

There are 1:30 PM shows on all three of those days at the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater: http://kageki.hankyu.co.jp/revue/156/program.html
They're listed as sold out, but you can get scalper tickets off of Yahoo Auctions or ticket.co.jp, as well as go for same-day tickets from the box office (there's a guide on the wiki for that, under 'Going to See a Show.')

Hi everyone! I am so new to Takarazuka about a month old baby
_
;
I had heard of Takarazuka when it was mentioned in some Anime(?) subs but I never really searched for it. then as a Sailor Moon fan was found out about Sera myu musicals and I was infatuated by the way Japanese do musicals. I loved the actresses who were playing male roles. then following few of those actresses I came across Revolutionary Girl Utena Musicals. All roles were covered by women, very talented women. on you tube there were comments that that musical was Takarazuka style due to all female cast. still I didn't search anything. When a month ago a you tube fella uploaded yet another R.G.Utena video I asked them who were the actresses playing two certain roles, who I couldn't find their names anywhere and they answered me that both actresses where Takarazuka Otokoyaku. and that's how I found this wonderful place. when I read the info about the actresses the school years an all the respect I had for their talented grew even bigger. watching Videos in You tube had me more than once left with my mouth agape for hours. Such Perfection, Such beauty, such talent.
  • wish* please just throw me into a Takarazuka theater and give me a broom to wipe the stage I will be HAPPY *drools*

hajimemashite minna-sama, watakushi was SeraErisu desu.
yoroshiku onegai shimasu *bows*
