Theater Drama City - I need advice!

I already wrote about this in livejournal, but I still need some advice!

I might travel to Japan next spring with my friends and of course I just have to go and see as many performances as possible. I might travel in March. I've read much about getting tickets, but I'm still not sure what would be the best thing to do.

My main concern is Soragumi's Valentino. I'm not too familiar with shows performed in other locations than Grand Theater and Tokyo Theater. I'll stay in Tokyo, we might start our trip March 9th and stay there about two weeks. So I'd have to make a trip to Osaka and most likely stay one night there. However, that's not the problem.

I was wondering how to get tickets to this kind of show. It's also performed such a short time, and I was wondering if tickets are easily sold out or not. Other than that, I'm not sure where to buy tickets and how much they cost...? Would it be possible to buy tickets to Theater Drama City in Tokyo Theater, for example?

I'd also like to see Yukigumi's Romeo & Juliette in Tokyo and maybe Tsukigumi's Prince of the Land of Roses / ONE in Takarazuka, but that's much easier already (I've visited Takarazuka once and went to see a show of course.) Do you think it'll be easy to get tickets to Romeo & Juliette? I've read that Tokyo shows often sell out fast but someone said that it will be ok and I should be able to get the ticket quite easily.

Thank you for your advice!

I've never been to Umeda Theater, since I live closer to the Tokyo area, but my experience with Yuuhi's smaller shows (and from what I have heard from friends) is that they sell out right away. She is highly popular and has had many, many years to build a large fan base. I would definitely have it set up so that you purchase tickets as soon as they go on sale (general sale: Jan. 9th), unless you are willing to pay scalper prices. Tickets are 7,500 yen.

Tokyo Theater box office only sells tickets to Tokyo Theater and Nippon Seinenkan shows (and, VERY occasionally other Tokyo venues).

Sayonara shows and Western show adaptions tend to sell well in Tokyo, particularly on weekends. On the other hand, ohirome kouen tend to sell less well, and some fans may feel the need to make a statement about the musumeyaku situation. It's hard to predict how this show will sell. Generally, though, even shows which don't sell well at first will sell out on the weekends at least a week beforehand.

For Tsuki in the Daigekijou, I'm certain you will have no problem getting tickets, even the day-of. Tickets there do not sell out, as a general rule, and it will be an original play, not a famous show.

okay here we go :)

since you'll be in Tokyo many days before the show you want to watch in Osaka, you can buy tickets for the show from your first day in Tokyo.

I don't remember the exact name of the store and where is located (it is something like "ticket center") But If you go to the Tokyo Takarazuka counter and ask the girls there they will be you instructions of how to go to that store.
You can actually buy the tickets for ALL the shows you want to watch.

tickets for Grand Theater and Tokyo Takarazuka go like that: SS:11.000 yen (those are always sold out) 8.000~8.500 yen for S,(those include some of the first rows of the balcony) 5.500yen for A and 3.500 yen for B.
if a show is sold out then you can get a day ticket the very day you want to watch the show, they cost 2.500 yen of a last row seat on the balcony and 1.500 yen for standing.
the counter opens at 10.00 am for tickets sales, if you are there at 9.00am(or earlier NOT later though, the line after nine grows up insanely fast!) you can get a good position on the growing line and actually get a ticket. I managed a soragumi's Trafalgar day ticket like that :)

For daigekijyou ticket I went to that ticket shop as the girls in the counter told me, I got an S first row of the balcony ticket for Sabrina/exciter and also bought from that shop my ticket for Hakataza run of Romio and Juliet, and I was in a tenth row tickets for smaller theaters start from 8.500 yen and it seems to be easier to find a ticket that it is in Tokyo theater. Though mind that Soragumi is the most popular troupe right now, so when the days will coming closer you can check the theaters web site and ticket page to see the availability but even if it's sold out i think you can still get a day ticket.

I think you'll easily find tickets for Tsuki and Yuki plays. another tip for tickets the availability is bigger on weekdays between tuesday-thursday. better seats, more seats. what sold out the most and faster is the weekends.
