Thx for the recommendation, caithion!

If it's dancing you love, I recommend Across (2006). It's a Star Troupe dance recital, not a special, but it is amazing.

Is there a special on similar epic level of greatness like Golden Steps?

.... I´m glad that there are enough japanese fans who came to you at the theaters just to talk and who are curious. I love these talks so much and it´s always a pleasure.

I´m more shocked about the manners of japanese fan club members against foreign fans. Although I know that my bad experience was an exception, I won´t be contacting a member again for a while. .....

Oh that's true @caithion. One thing I do enjoy is seeing so many different properties interpreted the Takarazuka way, but that def would be expensive to license. That's a bummer. But it's cool to see all of the 2014 content - they really went all out!

The old docus and behind the scenes stuff that from the 100th year celebration were really informational. Felt like all the OGs did a media binge and shared everything they could lol

Agree with Caithion. Doesn't make much financial sense to put much effort for such a small niche group. They definitely know where their foreign fans are highly concentrated, like Taiwan/China.
caithion, Wednesday 17 of May, 2017, 03:25:10 PDT
Ditto fan clubs. Many of the fan clubs have changed their inclusivity a lot over the last decade. Many have also been burned, often by accident of foreign fans not 100% understanding rules and directions. Buts it's constantly evolving.

I think the largest hurdle is a matter of copyright. It simply isn't lucrative to pay for licensing abroad to sell a couple dozen copies to foreigners.

The company certainly has been working hard to become more accessible, including having multiple-language versions of their website and even an English version of their ticket system.

that would be rad! - does the company have a stance on foreign fan engagement besides 'we don't do subs'? I appreciate that they do tours abroad and what not buuuuut I'd love some more easily accessible content

That covers TMS, the fan culture and actress life behind the scenes

I suppose in my mind theater: I wish I could do a more comprehensive Zuka documentary in English.

The Dream Girls documentary was fascinating to watch. Times change but the fans enthusiasm will never.

I vaguely remember that Boxman (Soragumi 2004) has some tap dancing

Singin' in the Rain also has a lot of tap dance in it!
zukazukazuka, Thursday 11 of May, 2017, 17:54:29 PDT
I'm not sure if you'd call it "extensive" but in Me and My Girl there are several scenes with tap dancing!
Anonymous, Thursday 11 of May, 2017, 14:27:00 PDT
Are there any shows that come to mind with extensive tap dancing? Just a random thought
Anonymous, Thursday 11 of May, 2017, 13:27:41 PDT
@soundmon: that would be great! Thank you!!!

Not sure about subs but if you want the Japanese lyrics, I have transcribed it some time ago. I can share it if you want
