Origin of Stage Name: It was chosen by her father, the novelist Sakata Hiro, and his friend Shouno Junzou, based on the Kakinomoto-no Hitomaro's poem: み熊野の 浦の浜木綿 百重なす 心は思へど 直に逢はぬかも (I have dreamt of you as many times as many crinum flowers grow near Kumano bay, but ah! I do not have hope to meet you once more). Ooura literally means "great bay", and mizuki - "spreading trees".

• Before entering Takarazuka, she graduated from junior high school.
• After leaving Takarazuka, she had a successful career as a singer and tango dancer.
• She wrote two books about her experiences in the Revue.
• She died of lung cancer on November 14th, 2009 at a hospital in Tokyo. She was 53 years old.
